Step 1: Choose a Binding Style
To meet your needs, we offer paperback books in 4 binding styles (perfect binding, stitch/staple binding, plastic coil, and cerlux binding). When only the best will do, choose full-color hardcover books to bring all of your photos and illustrations to life.
Step 2: Prepare Your Pages
All pages must be furnished press-ready. Press-ready pages are already formatted, with no additional typesetting or alterations needed. Pages are ready to print and will print the way they appear on your computer. Printing quality is determined by the quality of the press-ready material. A FREE pdf proof will be sent for your approval before we commence printing.
Please note the following essentials elements of file preparation:
All book printing files must be in Adobe PDF format, all content pages combined into 1 pdf file and cover file submitted separately. Please review the following specifications before submitting your artwork.
Color Mode: If you are printing in color, the mode must be CMYK. All images must be a minimum 300dpi.
Marks & Bleed: The bleed requirement is a minimum 1/8 inch (preferably 1/4 inch or 6.35mm). If your design has no bleeds then no bleed margin is required.
Text Safe Area: To avoid having text cut off during trimming, leave a clear space of about 1/4″ (0.25 inch) to 1/2″ (0.5 inch) away from the edges of your design..
rimming Tolerance: We will require a tolerance of at least 2 mm for trimming.
Font: All fonts must be embedded or converted to path (create outlines).
Step 3: Prepare Your Cover
Your cover is important to your book’s success. Good design motivates sales. An effective title, striking graphics, and interesting colors all contribute to an attractive cover. All paperback covers are printed on heavy, durable cover stock and have an option of different lamination types to add durability and improve color brilliance.
Spine Width: Please ensure that you use our spine width calculator to design your book cover.
